Making Active Cyber Insurance the Global Enterprise Standard

Blog-Global Cyber Insurance

Cyber incidents ranked as the #1 global business concern for the fifth consecutive year in the 2026 Allianz Risk Barometer — by the widest margin in the survey's history. The report showed that cyber concerns are growing alongside global cybersecurity spending, which is projected to surpass $300 billion by 2029. This means large organizations' investments in security and resilience have been paying off. Detection and response capabilities are improving.

Yet, cyber remains the dominant concern because the threat is evolving faster than the defenses. AI is amplifying attack sophistication, third-party dependencies are expanding attack surfaces, and regulatory requirements are tightening across every major market simultaneously.

More spending isn't the only answer. A different model is.

Today, Coalition and Allianz finalized a long-term strategic partnership that brings our Active Cyber Insurance model to the global enterprise market at scale.

Better Together

Under this agreement, Allianz is transitioning its commercial standalone cyber insurance business to Coalition. We’re taking primary responsibility for underwriting, pricing, product development, risk mitigation, and claims management, all supported by Allianz's resources for multinational and large corporate underwriting and backed by Allianz's long-term insurance capacity across a minimum 10-year framework.

Today, Coalition and Allianz finalized a long-term strategic partnership that brings our Active Cyber Insurance model to the global enterprise market at scale.

The structural commitment behind this partnership is significant. Allianz has deepened its equity stake in Coalition. Allianz SE CEO Oliver Bäte is taking a dedicated Coalition board seat. A number of Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty cyber specialists are joining our teams, bringing local market knowledge and established relationships into Coalition's global risk infrastructure.

For existing Allianz cyber policyholders, the transition is designed to be seamless. Current policies, relationships, and client-executive structures remain intact. The coverage, claims handling, and service policyholders rely on today stay fully in place — with Active Cyber Insurance's continuous monitoring, underwriting precision, and loss prevention capabilities added on top.

From Passive Coverage to Active Protection

Historically, cyber insurance has been viewed as a financial instrument that compensates organizations after something goes wrong. We built Coalition on the premise that insurance should actively work to prevent losses, not just cover them.

The challenge of cyber risk is categorically different for enterprises. A single organization may depend on hundreds of vendors across multiple geographies, each carrying their own exposure. Regulatory disclosure obligations vary by market and move on tight timelines. Board-level governance standards require documented evidence of due diligence that most passive programs were never designed to produce.

Active Cyber Insurance was built for exactly this.

The Active Advantage

Actionable Global Telemetry

Risk-Intelligent Underwriting

Applied Loss Prevention

Coalition security researchers use global honeypots and AI to monitor the entire internet in real time, tracking threat actor behavior as it evolves. Our live telemetry ensures that our risk models gain precision alongside emerging threats, giving enterprises the validation needed to justify security investments and ensure capital is being deployed effectively.

Coalition underwriters build a comprehensive profile tailored to every organization’s unique cybersecurity posture. Our approach replaces static snapshots and third-party risk scores with a unified view of corporate risk, bridging the gap between finance, legal, and security operations to ensure leadership is aligned toward protecting its bottom line.

Coalition helps actively protect enterprises throughout the policy period by continuously scanning their network perimeters for new exposures and emerging vulnerabilities. By alerting enterprise policyholders to fix these issues before attackers find them, we help organizations protect their revenue by avoiding critical operational downtime.

Active Cyber Insurance bases risk decisions on real-time visibility instead of guesswork, helping proactively protect enterprises from cyber incidents, rather than just reacting to them.

A Global Commitment

The initial rollout targets the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Germany, France, Denmark, and Sweden, with expansion to additional markets to follow. As the partnership scales, so does the commitment to building the local expertise and relationships that enterprise cyber risk demands, ensuring that global reach is matched by local knowledge and people who understand the markets they serve.

And the depth of our new partnership carries specific significance for enterprises with multinational programs. Allianz's distribution network spans over 200 countries and territories. Bringing Active Cyber Insurance to that footprint means enterprise organizations can access a consistent model across the markets where they operate, rather than navigating the local market variation that global cyber programs typically require.

Becoming the Global Enterprise Standard

The cyber risk environment has outpaced the existing insurance frameworks that most enterprises are using to manage it. Our partnership with Allianz is designed to close that gap.

By combining Allianz’s international distribution and financial stability with Coalition’s Active Cyber Insurance model, we’re giving enterprises across every major market the confidence that they can withstand digital threats no matter how cyber risk evolves.

For Coalition, this marks the next step toward becoming the largest writer of cyber insurance globally. The active model is no longer a future-state ambition. It's available now, and it's built to last.

With Allianz, we’re making Active Cyber Insurance the global standard for enterprise protection. Contact your broker, account manager, or underwriter to learn more.
